For high-temperature water heating, the HTWU line offers a removable U-tube bundle design; this configuration sits within that range. High-temperature water flows through the tube side, so the heads rather than the shell set the pressure limit. Its envelope centers on a 6-inch diameter shell, 96-inch shell length, and roughly 100-1/4 inches overall in a 6-pass arrangement. That works out to about 27.3 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 400 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Common applications are campus and district energy systems, converter duty on HTHW loops, and high-temperature hot water distribution. This build is designated HTWU68-63.
