Configured for high-temperature water heating, this configuration carries the removable U-tube bundle construction that defines the HTWU range. High-temperature water flows through the tube side, so the heads rather than the shell set the pressure limit. Physically, the unit runs a 6-inch shell, 96-inch shell length, and roughly 100-1/4 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 36.2 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as HTWU68-23. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 150 PSI on the shell side, 400 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature.
