Description

Configured for high-temperature water heating, this configuration carries the removable U-tube bundle construction that defines the HTWU range. High-temperature water flows through the tube side, so the heads rather than the shell set the pressure limit. Dimensionally it is a 6-inch shell unit, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 52-1/4 inches overall in a 6-pass arrangement. That works out to about 13.1 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 400 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Installations range across high-temperature hot water distribution, converter duty on HTHW loops, and industrial process heating. This build is designated HTWU64-63.
