A two-pass U-bend bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of TCS/TCW tank heater equipment in in-tank heating with steam in the tubes. The bundle mounts through a collar in the tank wall and heats the surrounding fluid by natural convection. Its envelope centers on a 14-inch diameter shell, 96-inch shell length, and roughly 97-1/2 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 234 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as TCS-1496. Material selection covers cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature.
