For steam-to-liquid heating, the SU/WU line offers a removable U-tube bundle design; this configuration sits within that range. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. The configuration measures 6 inches across the shell, 36-inch shell length, and roughly 40-1/8 inches overall in a 6-pass arrangement. That works out to about 9.6 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. This build is designated SU63-6. Typical duty includes instantaneous domestic water heating, swimming pool heating, and radiant panel and snow-melt converters.
