Configured for steam-to-liquid heating, this configuration carries the removable U-tube bundle construction that defines the SU/WU range. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Physically, the unit runs a 6-inch shell, 36-inch shell length, and roughly 40-1/8 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 12.7 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as SU63-4. The build specifies cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature.
