SU244-6

The SU/WU platform pairs a removable U-tube bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and this configuration applies that design to steam-to-liquid heating. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Dimensionally it is a 24-inch shell unit, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 77-1/2 inches overall in a 6-pass arrangement. That works out to about 370 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies steel bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. This build is designated SU244-6. The series sees regular use in radiant panel and snow-melt converters, swimming pool heating, and building comfort heating.
