Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Physically, the unit runs a 24-inch shell, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 79-3/4 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 385 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as SU244-4. As furnished, materials include steel bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature.
