A removable U-tube bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of SU/WU equipment in steam-to-liquid heating. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Physically, the unit runs a 22-inch shell, 120-inch shell length, and roughly 153-5/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 803 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as SU2210-2. As furnished, materials include cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Installations range across instantaneous domestic water heating, swimming pool heating, and radiant panel and snow-melt converters.
