Configured for steam-to-liquid heating, this configuration carries the removable U-tube bundle construction that defines the SU/WU range. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Physically, the unit runs a 16-inch shell, 84-inch shell length, and roughly 93-5/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 265 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Installations range across instantaneous domestic water heating, swimming pool heating, and building comfort heating. This build is designated SU167-2.
