this configuration is a SU/WU unit built on a removable U-tube bundle for steam-to-liquid heating. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Physically, the unit runs a 16-inch shell, 72-inch shell length, and roughly 81-5/8 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 217 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. This build is designated SU166-4. Typical duty includes building comfort heating, radiant panel and snow-melt converters, and swimming pool heating.
