The SU/WU platform pairs a removable U-tube bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and this configuration applies that design to steam-to-liquid heating. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Dimensionally it is a 16-inch shell unit, 72-inch shell length, and roughly 81-5/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 227 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as SU166-2. Standard construction uses cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Installations range across swimming pool heating, radiant panel and snow-melt converters, and instantaneous domestic water heating.
