SU105-4

A removable U-tube bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of SU/WU equipment in steam-to-liquid heating. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Physically, the unit runs a 10-inch shell, 60-inch shell length, and roughly 65 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 68 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Common applications are swimming pool heating, building comfort heating, and instantaneous domestic water heating. This build is designated SU105-4.
