HTWU87-44

The HTWU platform pairs a removable U-tube bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and this configuration applies that design to high-temperature water heating. High-temperature water flows through the tube side, so the heads rather than the shell set the pressure limit. Dimensionally it is a 8-inch shell unit, 84-inch shell length, and roughly 89-1/8 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 58 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 150 PSI on the shell side, 400 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. This build is designated HTWU87-44.
