Note: Unit pictured is representative of standard unit and may not exactly depict p/n HTWU86-44 as shown on this page.
Built around a removable U-tube bundle, this configuration delivers high-temperature water heating for demanding service. High-temperature water flows through the tube side, so the heads rather than the shell set the pressure limit. Physically, the unit runs a 8-inch shell, 72-inch shell length, and roughly 77-1/8 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 49 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 400 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes high-temperature hot water distribution, converter duty on HTHW loops, and campus and district energy systems. This build is designated HTWU86-44.
