Configured for high-temperature water heating, this configuration carries the removable U-tube bundle construction that defines the HTWU range. High-temperature water flows through the tube side, so the heads rather than the shell set the pressure limit. Its envelope centers on a 8-inch diameter shell, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 53-1/8 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 32 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as HTWU84-44. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 400 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature.
