Configured for high-temperature water heating, this configuration carries the removable U-tube bundle construction that defines the HTWU range. High-temperature water flows through the tube side, so the heads rather than the shell set the pressure limit. Physically, the unit runs a 12-inch shell, 84-inch shell length, and roughly 90 inches overall in a 6-pass arrangement. That works out to about 121 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as HTWU127-64. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 400 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature.
