Note: Unit pictured is representative of standard unit and may not exactly depict p/n HTWU127-24 as shown on this page.
A removable U-tube bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of HTWU equipment in high-temperature water heating. High-temperature water flows through the tube side, so the heads rather than the shell set the pressure limit. Dimensionally it is a 12-inch shell unit, 84-inch shell length, and roughly 90 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 147 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 400 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Installations range across campus and district energy systems, high-temperature hot water distribution, and converter duty on HTHW loops. This build is designated HTWU127-24.
