A removable U-tube bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of HTWU equipment in high-temperature water heating. High-temperature water flows through the tube side, so the heads rather than the shell set the pressure limit. Dimensionally it is a 10-inch shell unit, 96-inch shell length, and roughly 101-3/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 116 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as HTWU108-25. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 150 PSI on the shell side, 400 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature.
