The SU/WU platform pairs a removable U-tube bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and this configuration applies that design to liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Dimensionally it is a 24-inch shell unit, 72-inch shell length, and roughly 114-3/4 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 586 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as WU246-2. As furnished, materials include cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature.
