WU246-4

This configuration is a SU/WU unit built on a removable U-tube bundle for liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Dimensionally it is a 24-inch shell unit, 72-inch shell length, and roughly 112-5/8 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 572 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated WU246-4. Typical duty includes pool and storage-tower heating, condensate cooling, and oil cooling and snow melting.
