For liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling, the SU/WU line offers a removable U-tube bundle design; WU226-4 sits within that range. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. The configuration measures 22 inches across the shell, 72-inch shell length, and roughly 110-5/8 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 477 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in pool and storage-tower heating, oil cooling and snow melting, and hydronic HVAC converters.
