The SU/WU platform pairs a removable U-tube bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and this configuration applies that design to liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Physically, the unit runs a 22-inch shell, 84-inch shell length, and roughly 127-1/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 568 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as WU227-2. Material selection covers cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature.
