A removable U-tube bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of SU/WU equipment in liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. The configuration measures 22 inches across the shell, 72-inch shell length, and roughly 115-1/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 489 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes oil cooling and snow melting, pool and storage-tower heating, and hydronic HVAC converters. This build is designated WU226-2.
