Configured for liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling, this configuration carries the removable U-tube bundle construction that defines the SU/WU range. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Its envelope centers on a 16-inch diameter shell, 108-inch shell length, and roughly 117-3/4 inches overall in a 6-pass arrangement. It carries 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, N/A on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes condensate cooling, oil cooling and snow melting, and pool and storage-tower heating. Optional stainless shells, 90/10 copper-nickel tubes, and cast brass or bronze bonnets suit aggressive or brackish water service. This build is designated WU169-610.
