A fixed-tubesheet bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of CHXS compact equipment in compact liquid cooling in corrosive service. It shares the compact CHX envelope while targeting service that would attack a standard cooler. Its envelope centers on a 4-inch diameter shell, 24-inch shell length, and roughly 27-5/8 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 14.1 square feet of heat transfer surface on 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. The unit is rated for 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes deionized and treated water cooling, hydraulic and lube oil cooling, and mechanical seal cooling. This build is designated CHXS424-4L.
