Built around a fixed-tubesheet bundle, this configuration delivers compact liquid cooling in corrosive service for demanding service. It shares the compact CHX envelope while targeting service that would attack a standard cooler. The configuration measures 3 inches across the shell, 14-inch shell length, and roughly 17-1/4 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 4.3 square feet of heat transfer surface on 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in deionized and treated water cooling, mechanical seal cooling, and chemical and food process cooling. This build is designated CHXS314-4L.
