For compact liquid cooling, the CHX compact line offers a fixed-tubesheet bundle design; this configuration sits within that range. Small-diameter tubes pack maximum surface into a short shell, keeping the mounting footprint tight. Dimensionally it is a 8-inch shell unit, 60-inch shell length, and roughly 66-3/4 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 103 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, brass shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated CHX860-4S. Common applications are mechanical seal cooling, engine jacket water cooling, and hydraulic and lube oil cooling.
