Small-diameter tubes pack maximum surface into a short shell, keeping the mounting footprint tight. Dimensionally it is a 8-inch shell unit, 60-inch shell length, and roughly 66-3/4 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 103 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as CHX860-4L. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, brass shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes engine jacket water cooling, mechanical seal cooling, and injection molding machine cooling.
