Small-diameter tubes pack maximum surface into a short shell, keeping the mounting footprint tight. Its envelope centers on a 8-inch diameter shell, 72-inch shell length, and roughly 79 inches overall in a 1-pass arrangement. That works out to about 124 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, brass shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes engine jacket water cooling, hydraulic and lube oil cooling, and injection molding machine cooling. This build is designated CHX872-1L.
