Small-diameter tubes pack maximum surface into a short shell, keeping the mounting footprint tight. Dimensionally it is a 8-inch shell unit, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 55 inches overall in a 1-pass arrangement. That works out to about 82 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast iron bonnets, brass shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes mechanical seal cooling, engine jacket water cooling, and injection molding machine cooling. This build is designated CHX848-1L.
