Configured for compact liquid cooling, CHX848-1S carries the fixed-tubesheet bundle construction that defines the CHX compact range. Small-diameter tubes pack maximum surface into a short shell, keeping the mounting footprint tight. Physically, the unit runs a 8-inch shell, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 55 inches overall in a 1-pass arrangement. That works out to about 82 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, brass shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. The unit is rated for 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in injection molding machine cooling, engine jacket water cooling, and hydraulic and lube oil cooling.
