Configured for compact liquid cooling, this configuration carries the fixed-tubesheet bundle construction that defines the CHX compact range. Small-diameter tubes pack maximum surface into a short shell, keeping the mounting footprint tight. Dimensionally it is a 8-inch shell unit, 36-inch shell length, and roughly 42-3/4 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 62 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron bonnets, brass shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated CHX836-4S. Typical duty includes injection molding machine cooling, mechanical seal cooling, and hydraulic and lube oil cooling.
