Built around a removable straight-tube bundle, this configuration delivers water-cooled gas cooling for demanding service. Hot gas passes through the tubes against cooling water in the baffled shell, and the unit shares the removable-bundle construction of the OC series. The configuration measures 8 inches across the shell, 123-inch shell length. It carries 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper or steel tubes, and steel tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 1000°F maximum temperature. This build is designated GC810-90. Typical duty includes process gas cooling, industrial gas conditioning, and compressor discharge gas cooling. Small-diameter tubing maximizes surface in a given shell, and alternate tube alloys are available for corrosive gas streams.
