GC49-20

The GC gas cooler platform pairs a removable straight-tube bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and this configuration applies that design to water-cooled gas cooling. Hot gas passes through the tubes against cooling water in the baffled shell, and the unit shares the removable-bundle construction of the OC series. The configuration measures 4 inches across the shell, 111-inch shell length. It carries 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper or steel tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 1000°F maximum temperature. This build is designated GC49-20. The series sees regular use in compressor discharge gas cooling, blower and vapor cooling duty, and industrial gas conditioning. Small-diameter tubing maximizes surface in a given shell, and alternate tube alloys are available for corrosive gas streams.
