The GC gas cooler platform pairs a removable straight-tube bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and 5-153-10-123-005 applies that design to water-cooled gas cooling. Hot gas passes through the tubes against cooling water in the baffled shell, and the unit shares the removable-bundle construction of the OC series. Dimensionally it is a 10-inch shell unit, 123-inch shell length. It carries 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 1000°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes compressor discharge gas cooling, blower and vapor cooling duty, and industrial gas conditioning. Small-diameter tubing maximizes surface in a given shell, and alternate tube alloys are available for corrosive gas streams.
