The GC gas cooler platform pairs a removable straight-tube bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and this configuration applies that design to water-cooled gas cooling. Hot gas passes through the tubes against cooling water in the baffled shell, and the unit shares the removable-bundle construction of the OC series. The configuration measures 10 inches across the shell, 123-inch shell length. It carries 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, steel tubes, and steel tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 1000°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in industrial gas conditioning, compressor discharge gas cooling, and process gas cooling. Small-diameter tubing maximizes surface in a given shell, and alternate tube alloys are available for corrosive gas streams. The resulting model number is 5-153-10-123-004.
