Note: Unit pictured is representative of standard unit and may not exactly depict p/n ACFR-8185 as shown on this page.
A fixed-tubesheet bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of ACFR aftercooler equipment in compressed air aftercooling. Compressed air passes through the tubes against cooling water in the baffled shell, and the tube interiors clean easily from either end. Its envelope centers on a 8-5/8-inch diameter shell, 50-inch shell length, and roughly 50 inches overall in a 1-pass arrangement. That works out to about 49 square feet of heat transfer surface on 1/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as ACFR-8185. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 300°F maximum temperature. Installations range across compressor discharge aftercooling, instrument and shop air conditioning, and moisture and oil removal from plant air.
