Note: Unit pictured is representative of standard unit and may not exactly depict p/n ACFR-8151 as shown on this page.
The ACFR aftercooler platform pairs a fixed-tubesheet bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and ACFR-8151 applies that design to compressed air aftercooling. Compressed air passes through the tubes against cooling water in the baffled shell, and the tube interiors clean easily from either end. Physically, the unit runs a 8-5/8-inch shell, 50-inch shell length, and roughly 50 inches overall in a 1-pass arrangement. That works out to about 40 square feet of heat transfer surface on 1/4-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes compressor discharge aftercooling, moisture and oil removal from plant air, and instrument and shop air conditioning.
