For compressed air aftercooling, the ACFR aftercooler line offers a fixed-tubesheet bundle design; this configuration sits within that range. Compressed air passes through the tubes against cooling water in the baffled shell, and the tube interiors clean easily from either end. Its envelope centers on a 8-5/8-inch diameter shell, 50-inch shell length, and roughly 50 inches overall in a 1-pass arrangement. That works out to about 57.2 square feet of heat transfer surface on 1/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated ACFR-8216. Installations range across moisture and oil removal from plant air, compressor discharge aftercooling, and instrument and shop air conditioning.
