Note: Unit pictured is representative of standard unit and may not exactly depict p/n ACFR-696 as shown on this page.
this configuration is a ACFR aftercooler unit built on a fixed-tubesheet bundle for compressed air aftercooling. Compressed air passes through the tubes against cooling water in the baffled shell, and the tube interiors clean easily from either end. Physically, the unit runs a 6-5/8-inch shell, 50-inch shell length, and roughly 50 inches overall in a 1-pass arrangement. That works out to about 25.4 square feet of heat transfer surface on 1/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 300°F maximum temperature. Common applications are small and mid-size compressor packages, compressor discharge aftercooling, and instrument and shop air conditioning. This build is designated ACFR-696.
