Hot compressed air enters the tubes while cooling water counterflows through the shell, condensing moisture for removal downstream. The configuration measures 8 inches across the shell, 72-inch shell length in a 1-pass arrangement. It carries 1/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as ACA86-96. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in moisture and oil removal from plant air, pneumatic tool and instrument air conditioning, and compressed air dryer pre-cooling.
