The ACA aftercooler platform pairs a removable straight-tube bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and this configuration applies that design to compressed air aftercooling. Hot compressed air enters the tubes while cooling water counterflows through the shell, condensing moisture for removal downstream. Physically, the unit runs a 6-inch shell, 72-inch shell length in a 1-pass arrangement. It carries 1/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated ACA66-36. Installations range across moisture and oil removal from plant air, pneumatic tool and instrument air conditioning, and compressor discharge aftercooling. A floating rear tubesheet lets the bundle expand freely and pull for cleaning, and full-size air connections hold pressure drop down.
