ACA66-30

A removable straight-tube bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of ACA aftercooler equipment in compressed air aftercooling. Hot compressed air enters the tubes while cooling water counterflows through the shell, condensing moisture for removal downstream. Its envelope centers on a 6-inch diameter shell, 72-inch shell length in a 1-pass arrangement. It carries 1/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as ACA66-30. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in compressor discharge aftercooling, pneumatic tool and instrument air conditioning, and compressed air dryer pre-cooling. A floating rear tubesheet lets the bundle expand freely and pull for cleaning, and full-size air connections hold pressure drop down.
