Built around a removable straight-tube bundle, this configuration delivers compressed air aftercooling for demanding service. Hot compressed air enters the tubes while cooling water counterflows through the shell, condensing moisture for removal downstream. The configuration measures 6 inches across the shell, 72-inch shell length in a 1-pass arrangement. It carries 1/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. The unit is rated for 300°F maximum temperature. Common applications are compressor discharge aftercooling, moisture and oil removal from plant air, and compressed air dryer pre-cooling. A floating rear tubesheet lets the bundle expand freely and pull for cleaning, and full-size air connections hold pressure drop down. The resulting model number is ACA66-42.
