Hot compressed air enters the tubes while cooling water counterflows through the shell, condensing moisture for removal downstream. The configuration measures 3 inches across the shell, 48-inch shell length in a 1-pass arrangement. It carries 1/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. The unit is rated for 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated ACA34-12. Installations range across compressor discharge aftercooling, compressed air dryer pre-cooling, and pneumatic tool and instrument air conditioning.
