The ACA aftercooler platform pairs a removable straight-tube bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and this configuration applies that design to compressed air aftercooling. Hot compressed air enters the tubes while cooling water counterflows through the shell, condensing moisture for removal downstream. Its envelope centers on a 10-inch diameter shell, 108-inch shell length in a 1-pass arrangement. It carries 1/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as ACA109-82. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. The unit is rated for 300°F maximum temperature. Installations range across compressor discharge aftercooling, compressed air dryer pre-cooling, and pneumatic tool and instrument air conditioning. A floating rear tubesheet lets the bundle expand freely and pull for cleaning, and full-size air connections hold pressure drop down.
