ACA109-144 is a ACA aftercooler unit built on a removable straight-tube bundle for compressed air aftercooling. Hot compressed air enters the tubes while cooling water counterflows through the shell, condensing moisture for removal downstream. Physically, the unit runs a 10-inch shell, 108-inch shell length in a 1-pass arrangement. It carries 1/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. The unit is rated for 300°F maximum temperature. Common applications are moisture and oil removal from plant air, compressor discharge aftercooling, and compressed air dryer pre-cooling. A floating rear tubesheet lets the bundle expand freely and pull for cleaning, and full-size air connections hold pressure drop down.
