A removable straight-tube bundle gives 5-155-10-111-001 the thermal and mechanical margin expected of ACA aftercooler equipment in compressed air aftercooling. Hot compressed air enters the tubes while cooling water counterflows through the shell, condensing moisture for removal downstream. Physically, the unit runs a 10-inch shell, 108-inch shell length in a 1-pass arrangement. It carries 1/4-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes moisture and oil removal from plant air, compressor discharge aftercooling, and pneumatic tool and instrument air conditioning. A floating rear tubesheet lets the bundle expand freely and pull for cleaning, and full-size air connections hold pressure drop down.
