The bundle mounts through a collar in the tank wall and heats the surrounding fluid by natural convection. Dimensionally it is a 10-inch shell unit, 60-inch shell length, and roughly 59-3/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 71 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes process tank heating, domestic water storage heating, and hydronic-fed storage systems.
